Horses have been my passion for as long as I can remember. One of my earliest memories was my father telling me if that I wanted it bad enough, I could actually turn into a horse. I'd spend hours pawing the ground, galloping though the ranch I grew up on. I'm not embarrassed to admit I might have grazed upon grass a time or two in order to accomplish my dream of being a horse!
All I ever wanted while growing up was a horse of my very own. When my father joined the United States Coast Guard when I was five years old, it all together erased my chance at horse ownership. Nineteen years later, that love hasn't faded. There hasn't been a moment in my life that horses were not a major part of my daily routine. I lived vicariously though books and movies while we traveled the world during my father's career in the military.
At the age of seventeen I was finally able to get involved with horses, and since then they've been a part of my everyday life.
I did not get interested in photography until I moved away from home, to Indiana at the age of ninteen. As a Christmas gift from my boyfriend, I was given a Kodak EasyShare CX7430. From then on I was hooked, camera at my side at all times. That camera finally started failing me after extreme use and I became the owner of a Canon PowerShot A540.
Now I am using a Canon EOS Digital SLR Rebel XTI with an assortment of EF lenses. My main photography focus is often animals (especially horses!), but I also love capturing spectacular scenery or even candid shots. My gallery is full of photos from everyday life - if you want to see my most notable shots, please view my portfolio.
